Movies
Movie producers for the last few years have wondered what can they do to improve their bottom line at the movie theater. Movies have changed so much in the past few years and that’s part of the problem. There are no movies any more that you can take you whole family to. How many times has this been told to movie producers and they keep making these killer flicks that families are boycotting? People want to see movies as a family and most of the movies coming out our r-rated. Another thing that has hurt movies is the economy. Many people just can’t afford to pay the 7-10.00 a ticket anymore and then you add drinks and popcorn and it costs you a lot to go to the movies. One of the biggest things besides no family movies that are hurting Hollywood is television. People can order a movie online for 3.99 stay home with the family not fight the lines and save a lot of money. The On-demand cable system is really hurting Hollywood a lot. The only real drawback is you can’t see new releases until a few months after there released. Apparently that’s not bugging people as they are staying home ion droves. So, What’s the solution for the movie industry? First off all they need to make more family movies or at least movies the whole family can watch without leaving the kids somewhere else. The other option Hollywood has is not to release them to on demand so people either have to go to the movie theater or buy the video on release. That way they would have more control over what they do with their product. They have a good product but they can sure make it better. Movies are something everyone loves to watch and having family oriented movies are crucial to Hollywood’s success. Even Walt Disney has got away from making family friendly movies. Hopefully movie producers will see their mistakes and work on making their products better and consumers than will come back. Until this happens, I don’t see people coming back for a while. They will show up for movies that are going to be big hits but that’s it. All the other movies will just lose money as attendance won’t be there. Hopefully Hollywood will get it right soon before the home video market takes it over. |
