MP3 is probably one of the hottest things to hit the net in a very long time. MP3 is a file that contains music and can be downloaded on Ipods or your computer and listen to and exchanged. MP3 has grown as a market faster than most anything lately. Friends share MP3 with other friends and file sharing MP3 sites seem too popup every second. Free MP3 downloads are also available on many different web sites. One of the things that MP3 have really helped is new and emerging artists in the musical field.

Many music groups have a hard time getting heard on the radio and the easiest way now is to make an MP3 and give it away to as many people as you know. Downloading it helps these musicians hopefully get it into the right hands and maybe a break will come there way. Many file sharing sites have become so popular because of MP3. This though has become a sore subject with musical artists. The file sharing site is where you can find an MP3 and download it for free. The cost to you is free in which the recording artist gets no money for. This has been a problem for some time and they have been trying to stop it. The government has even played a part in it as they have even shut some of these sites down.

MP3 downloads are probably going to continue no matter what anyone does as it’s hard to stop people downloading things from the internet. Trying to catch everyone is just way to hard and time consuming. I think eventually artists will devise a system to stop it, but it is a long way away. People will just network and make files that they ship other ways. MP3 is a medium that when it was devised I’m sure they never thought it would end up used for these purposes. It’s just like anything that is created for good sometimes people use it to get free things.

What does the future for MP3 hold? It looks like it won’t end anytime soon as MP3's just keep growing and growing as more Ipods are bought and put into use. MP3's have also help the sales of MP3 players to go through the roof. Look for MP3's to just get hotter until something better comes along.
