Knitting Patterns
Knitting patterns have changed a little through the years, but for the most part they are pretty much the same. Knitting has been around for a very long time and continues to be popular in middle America. Many knitting patterns today are based on patterns from the past. Knitting patterns are adjusted to fit whatever project they happen to be working on. Many free knitting patterns can be found on the internet. It use to be that the only knitting patterns you would be able to find were in magazines or books. Sometimes they would be handed down from generation to generation. Now that has changed a lot with the internet. Knitting pattern sites are all over the internet and people are now posting there knitting patterns on these web sites. Knitting has slowly lost its appeal and you don’t see much of it in stores and that’s a real shame. Knitting if did right can last forever which you just don’t see that much anymore. I think knitting has become a lost art and if you do find someone that does knit they are so swamped with work you wonder why more people don’t do it. It could be because it takes so long to knit something. New patterns are always being designed and getting them out to the public has been a problem, but with the internet that really shouldn’t be a problem anymore. What is the future of knitting patterns? That’s a very good question and it may just have two answers. People who have knitted for the longest time may or may not be training new ones to knit. Online courses are also available for people who want to learn how to knit. Hopefully this will bring more people into this great profession. Knitting patterns should continue to prosper as long as new people are interested in it. Hopefully with the internet knitting will grow to what it was many years ago. There was a time when everyone loved to get a knitted scarf of afghan for Christmas. Maybe one day we will get back to that. At least I hope we can and maybe educate people to what knitting is all about and how these people are craftsmen that should be respected for the quality of their work |
