Fashion any more is such a wide area and it changes so often. Who controls Fashion and who decides what fashion we like. Those are very good questions and I will try to answer those questions for you. Many of today’s Fashion starts overseas and is imported to the United States. People in France and other countries usually see the products first by some of the biggest designers and if they are popular and well received than we usually see them. A lot of the fashion never reaches us for various reasons. Fashion shows are where most of these start out at as they have people who write about fashion and their opinions can also sway a products success.

Fashion magazines also play a big part in fashion, in fact they are one of the biggest ways consumers get to see products ahead of their arrival. Probably one thing that people don’t realize about fashion is everyone can influence it. I will use an example to show you what I mean. People want to dress and look like their idols and what fashion they are wearing usually transfers to their fans. Fashion designers try and get stars to wear their clothes or accessories as they know fans will see it and they will in return buy them. Stars are like a free model for fashion designers and they use this medium as much as they can.

The Internet has also helped the Fashion world a lot . They can watch fashion shows clips on different web sites as this helps designers see how popular certain things on. Probably though the most important thing is still the Fashion magazines. These have been for the longest time the way people learn about their fashion and will still be the method of choice for a while. The magazine’s preview can help or hurt a fashion and the designers know this so they try to keep a good working relationship

As you can see many things determine fashion, from you and me to movie stars and even writers have input into it. Fashion designers are dependent on a lot of things for their products to be a winner. So, don’t think that you have no power in determining fashion, because you do. If you don’t buy what there selling they have to make something you will buy. Ultimately consumers have more input than they realize.
