Drugs

Drugs are one of the biggest problems in America right now and the problem seems to keep spreading. Taking a look at drugs there is two basic kinds of drugs illegal and prescription ones.
Illegal drugs and illegal drug trade is something in recent years that has grown a lot. No matter how much it seems the government clamps down on it people still do it. Many drugs are brought across the border and stopping it has been an uphill battle especially along the Mexico border.

It seems drugs are getting to kids more and more these days and it looks like there is no end in site. Drugs are in our schools and kids are getting younger who experiment with drugs. One of the things that law enforcement officials are seeing more of is prescription drug abuse. People are stealing prescriptions and even forging documents to get these drugs for their highs. Some even resort to robbery as a means to get these drugs. It has gotten so bad that some of the cold medicines had to be put behind the counter as drug dealers were making meth out of them and selling them on the street at a very cheap price. Will this ever stop and what recourse do we really have?

Drugs are going to always be here and there are number of reasons we haven’t been able to stop it. The breakdown of the family unit has helped at all as more and more families are separating and making it tough on each other. Some of these families know selling drugs is a fast buck and will do it. Education is the key if you ever want to get a hold on the drug trade. We must educate our youth in the schools and at home and let them know the perils of drug use. If we don’t, we are just going to have more and more drug problems in the coming years. They key to stop drug trade is take the profit out of it. That is very hard to do so I don’t think there is really any easy answers for now.

Hopefully one day we can say we won the drug war, but for now we will have to be content taking small steps and try too win the battle and hopefully the war.
